my very first full figure carving, and only after i had started it, i noticed how complicated the pose is, with the drapery, and the many break-throughs to carve.... she turned out ok, i think, though i not gave her the carpetbag i had carved, since it not fit the design... but she has her parrot-umbrella...

mary and the parrot-umbrella are carved from 2 pieces of linden wood. she stands with hat 32cm high. the finish is tung oil and beewax glaze. the base is (probably) jelutong with a dark brown briwax finish
