this small bust is my second work from a clay model. this time, i used the model only as inspiration and guide, but did not attempt to copy it. this was a very enjoyable way of carving, since it allows for creative freedom while carving, whereas the model is always there to look at if a problem occurs, and thus this is easily resolved. contrary to most of my carvings, this is a bust in the round, that is, it can be viewed from all sides.

linden, 15cm high, finish is a thin coat of clear matte varnish, followed from a light stain, followed from clear briwax
